All of the plagues were against the gods/goddesses of Egypt. Hequet was a frog headed goddess of fertility. In Exodus 8:1-7, the plague of frogs is placed on the land. Pharaoh walked away from the first clear evidence of God's hand at work against him in chapter 7 verse 23. Pharaoh's magicians did the same by their occult practices. Pharaoh asked that the frogs be removed. However, the frogs could not be removed by the magicians. This demonstrated genuine spiritual power. Notice verse 9 in this same chapter. Moses asks a cunning question: "When should the frogs be taken away?" This prevented Pharaoh from claiming that his magicians or nature had anything to do with the frogs leaving the land. Moses told him that the frogs would go from the land and only remain in the water. Then "Pharaoh would know that there is no one like the 'Lord our God.'"
