The Reality of this matter is that Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are not names they are titles of the three Persons of the Godhead. Jesus said I come in my Father's Name! We know that Jesus came in His Authority for one and secondly He had the Name that is above all Names, the Name of God. As God there can be no Name greater than God's Name. My contention is that the Three Persons of the Godhead share every Name ascribed to God. Let's look at the meaning of the Name of "Jesus Christ" In the original the name Jesus Christ means "YHVH The Saviour Annointed" Jesus was given this Name and the Bible says it's the Name above every other Name. 1Peter 1:11.. Calls the Holy Spirit "The Spirit of Christ" who was speaking in the Prophets and then further in the verse it mentions Christ who died.So then when you are getting Baptized in the Titles, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, you are being baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ. They all as God Share the same Glory of the Name of Jesus Christ in it's Highest meaning. The great commission in Matthew 28:19, Is not commanding them to Baptize into 3 separate names but, But the three Persons representing the Name above all Names, The Lord Jesus Christ. So then Baptizing them in THE NAME, one Name, is identifying the three persons as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The fact that the titles were never mentioned in the book of Acts is proof that the Apostles understood that The Name represented all Person's of the Trinity under the Name of Jesus Christ. Paul taught that the divisions in the Corinthian Church stemmed from not recognising the One Name that they were Baptized into 1Corinthians 1:11-17, and running after personality Ministries. Identifying with the Name of Jesus Christ is Identifying with the Trinity in Babtism.

Salvation is what matters! Rom 10:9 NLT - If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you WILL be SAVED. The penitent thief on the cross next to Jesus was saved but not baptized before he went to paradise with Jesus... Luk 23:43 NLT - And Jesus replied, "I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise." People have confessed belief in Jesus at their death beds and died before being baptized. They are saved! You know you are saved and God knows whom he has saved, present day water baptism tells those around us that you know you are saved... The baptism we need is the baptism with the Holy Spirit of Jesus, not the water baptism of John the Baptist... Mat 3:11 NLT - "I baptize with water those who repent of their sins and turn to God. But someone is coming soon who is greater than I am--so much greater that I'm not worthy even to be his slave and carry his sandals. He (Jesus) will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. Paul said the same thing... Act 19:2 NLT - "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" he asked them. "No," they replied, "we haven't even heard that there is a Holy Spirit." Act 19:3 NLT - "Then what baptism did you experience?" he asked. And they replied, "The baptism of John." Act 19:4 NLT - Paul said, "John's baptism called for repentance from sin. But John himself told the people to believe in the one who would come later, meaning Jesus." Act 19:5 NLT - As soon as they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Act 19:6 NLT - Then when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in other tongues and prophesied. Paul did not use water. He laid his hands on them and the HS came on them! Praise the Lord!

When Jesus told His disciples to go and make disciples and baptize them in the name of the father the son and the Holy Ghost He knew perfectly what He meant. We all know Jesus told His disciples and even those after His life Him and the father are one, and He also told the disciples that He will send them a helper who speaks of what the father and the son say. That's the Holy Ghost. It clearly shows that the trinity is one and when we say we baptize in the name of Jesus, we are actually saying in the trinity as well. The three are one inseparatable. Whether it's in Jesus name or in the name of the father the son and Holy Ghost it's all the same. Blessings good people.

All people who were baptised after the resurrection of Jesus were baptised in his name only.... John baptised in the name of Yehovah his God as did Jesus and his disciples.

God Bless U, As per the teachings of the bible and jesus, one must get baptised in the name of the father, son and the holy spirit, as per the age. Mathew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” As a matter of fact we are in the age of the holy spirit, so definitely we have to get baptised in three names of our lord / saviour, as u all know father`s name is Jehova, son name is Jesus, u must also know holy spirit`s name as revealed to john in revelations, so that the process of baptism can be completed as per the age. Rev 2:17 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it. Rev 3:11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. 12 The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. The new name is nothing but the name of jesus, when he comes again or his second coming, now is the time. The Didache (The Lord's Teaching Through the Twelve Apostles to the Nations), which is a brief early Christian treatise, dated by most scholars to the late first or early 2nd century, says this in Chapter 7: And concerning baptism, baptize this way: Having first said all these things, baptize into the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, in living water. But if you have no living water, baptize into other water; and if you cannot do so in cold water, do so in warm. But if you have neither, pour out water three times upon the head into the name of Father and Son and Holy Spirit. But before the baptism let the baptizer fast, and the baptized, and whoever else can; but you shall order the baptized to fast one or two days before.

When Jesus said to pray in the name of Jesus, he said exactly what he meant. He didn't say pray in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. We understood that we are to pray in the name of Jesus. In Matthew 28:19, Jesus said to baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. If he meant to do it in Jesus name, why wouldn't he have said in the name of Jesus? In Acts 2:38, the 'in the name of Jesus' means by the authority of Jesus.

It is my observation that we miss very important thing in comparing Peter's statement in Acts 2 with Jesus Christ's command in Mt. 28. Peter's statement include not just "in the name of Jesus" but also two other things: for forgiveness of sins, and to receive the Holy Spirit. So Peter is saying that the baptism has to be - 1. In the name of Jesus, the Son, meaning in Jesus died and buried to sin and flesh, and rising from the dead to a new life. 2. For the forgiveness of sins, this is from God, the Father. 3. To receive the Holy Spirit. In the book of Roman's, Paul has explained in detail what it means to be baptized in the name of the Father (see Rom. 3-5), the Son (see Rom. 6-7) and the Holy Spirit (see Rom. 8). So there is no confusion. Both Peter and Paul agree to Lord Jesus Christ's command in Mt. 28:19.
