John 14:14: "If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it."

All prayers must go through our Lord Jesus, who is the only mediator between God and man. Jesus is the only way to reach the Father. No one can come to the Father except through Him. (John 14:6) When Mary and Martha’s brother fell sick, they told Jesus that the one he loved was sick. Jesus knew that He could heal and deliver the sick man because the Father in Heaven hears all His prayers and request. (John 11:41:42) 

As children of God, we are guided by the Father who has sent Jesus to us. We are drawn to Jesus, and it is only through Him that our prayers are received by the Father. (John 6:44) Jesus has redeemed us to the Father through His blood, and all who believe in Him shall be saved. (Rev 5:5-9) 

God the Father dwells in the high and holy place, but He also dwells with those who have a contrite and humble spirit. He revives the spirit of the humble and the heart of the contrite ones. When we realize that our Lord Jesus is in the Father and us in Him, we are led to serve Him, follow Him, and be with Him all the time, which leads the Father to honor us with love. (John 14:20) 

Isaiah 57:15: For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy, "I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones."

Robert: I do not believe that it matters whether we say, "in Jesus' name" at the beginning or at the end of our prayers. Praying in the name of Jesus is the authority that we have been given to receive the answers to our prayers! 

It's by putting our faith in the integrity of His character and divine nature! 

It is the confidence and the assurance that we have received as a promise!

When we are born again, our soul is reborn and we now have access to God through Jesus. From this point forward God hears our prayers. I’m reminded of the Carrie Underwood song, “Jesus Take the Wheel.” In an emergency, she cries out to Jesus for help. God is not going to deny the prayer because it was not directed to the Father. We pray to the Father in Jesus' name because that is what Jesus instructed us to do.

Jesus told the disciples when he goes to the Father to pray in His name. John 16:23-28 NLT: "At that time you won't need to ask me for anything. I tell you the truth, you will ask the Father directly, and he will grant your request because you use my name. [24] You haven't done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy. [25] I have spoken of these matters in figures of speech, but soon I will stop speaking figuratively and will tell you plainly all about the Father. [26] Then you will ask in my name. I'm not saying I will ask the Father on your behalf, [27] for the Father himself loves you dearly because you love me and believe that I came from God. [28] Yes, I came from the Father into the world, and now I will leave the world and return to the Father."
