Can God abandon Christians if they do not produce 'fruit'?
Mark 11:12 - 14
AMP - 12 On the day following, when they had come away from Bethany, He was hungry. 13 And seeing in the distance a fig tree [covered] with leaves, He went to see if He could find any [fruit] on it [for in the fig tree the fruit appears at the same time as the leaves]. But when He came up to it, He found nothing but leaves, for the fig season had not yet come.

This is what Jesus says: John 15:2 - Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away: and every branch that bears fruit He prunes; that it may bear more fruit. God does not give up on us. He's ready to forgive and heal as soon as we turn back to him. 2 Chronicles 7:14 - If my people who are called by name, will humble themselves and pray, turn from their wicked ways, and seek my face, then I'll hear from Heaven and heal their land.

No the Lord will never abandon a child that belongs to him, would you? In Heb 13:5, he says,...NEVER will I leave you; NEVER will I forsake you... [Jhn 14:16 NLT] And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will NEVER leave you. Now there are people who claim (1 Cor 5:11) to be christians who don't and never did belong to the Lord...see the parable of the sower...Matt 13:3 Those are the ones that fall away... People either belong to the Lord or they belong to the devil... [Jhn 8:44 NLT] 44 For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies. [Jhn 8:47 NLT] Anyone who belongs to God listens gladly to the words of God. But you don't listen because you don't belong to God." Anyone who belongs to the Lord is eternally saved and WILL produce fruit!
