What is the message that we can take from Exodus 1:15-22?

Exodus 1:15 - 22

ESV - 15 Then the king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, one of whom was named Shiphrah and the other Puah. 16 "When you serve as midwife to the Hebrew women and see them on the birthstool, if it is a son, you shall kill him, but if it is a daughter, she shall live."

The Hebrew midwives feared God more than they feared Pharaoh. Because of their obedience, "the people multiplied and grew very strong" (Exodus 1:20).

Why is this important? Because the next chapter introduces us to Moses, who then led the Jews out of Egypt to the promised land.

Our obedience and repentance is necessary for God's blessings to take form in our lives.
