A Christian must not vote for those who believe ungodly things, things that the bible clearly condemns, If Jesus is against it. We don't join ourselves to it. The democrats approve of so much ungodly stuff. My question is how could a christian join to it? We are the light, so how can we be joined to darkness. The democratic party stands for all the wickedness of this world. So there is your answer plain and clear. We are not to vote democrat!

The answer to this question is determined by the answer to another question; which party did you, or if you were too young to vote, would you support before you were regenerated, restored, changed by the indwelling of The Holy Spirit? Has any of your previous biases been truly revealed to you, or, are you the same self-centered person you were before you turned the remainder of your life over to The Lord? These questions can be answered honestly only by you. The bible (Colossians:3) says we are to "put on" the new man. In order to put something on we must discard some things. The writer gives us a list of things we've suffered with and then tells us what to "put on" to replace those discarded things. He summarizes by saying that this all boils down to "putting on" Love. Vs15: "And let the peace of God RULE in your hearts". If you believe "the peace of God" rules in the heart of the political party you support then your decision is an easy one. However, if you believe anger, wrath, malice, ugly language, fornication, evil desire, covetousness, selfish desire and lies headline the party's agenda the decision of whom to support is a bit complicated. Does the party truly believe in "Small" government or is this only a selling point? Does the party truly hope to help those in need or is this a ploy to win elections for the party? How has the party reduced the size of government? How many people has the party lifted to a new level due to it's policies? Politics is about power, not righteousness. Once upon a time it was politically shrewd to support the buying and selling of people in this country, babies included, for the benefit of those who called themselves Christians. Both parties went along with it. Everyone knew it was wrong. Politics isn't about right and wrong, it's about power. Paul tells the Romans the gospel of Jesus Christ is " the POWER of God to salvation". This is to be the focus of the person who has committed their way to The Lord. Abortion, sinful sex of any kind, GREED (a biggie for me, it is more prevalent than the aforementioned) are sinful. Salvation is the protection from the power and penalty of those offenses. Set your mind on salvation not on politics.

I humbly submit neither, but since there are only TWO viable political options in real ville one must exercise due diligence in their personal selection process. Of the two which one exhibits Jude-Christian values more often and by more of it’s members? Generally do their policies promote individual freedom and thought with a balanced governance commensurate with the liberty of the individual’s own pursuit of happiness? Or do they exhibit a totalitarian coercion toward restricting free thought and forcing group think and only permitted actions by their faithful victims? (Isaiah 30:9) Do their policies seem to value more things and actions that a normal free born citizen would view as abnormal or even as an abomination per their own private pieties? Are all citizens viewed as equal under the law and held to the same standards of the governing statutes? (Ecclesiastes 10:2; Matthew 25:33-34) When power is given by the governed which party uses it to force capitulation of it’s victims at it’s various bureaucratic altars? (Proverbs 17:15; Isaiah 30:10) The Lord said you will know them by their fruit and only one party promotes the wholesale murder of the unborn, friend. Neither. Every choice we make should be for the increase of God's kingdom. Therefore we should not speculate on who a man is, we should investigate what he has done and what he or she has voted for. In addition as we are able to vote on laws, we should also think about the affect the law will have on our community in regard to God's word. Only when individuals or laws are in line with God's word should we vote for them. Otherwise we should vote against them no matter what their affiliation.

Based on what the Bible teaches I think Christians should be politically neutral but obligated to honor the governing authorities. This includes that we should not make commitment to one political party and its promotion, lobbying or voting in political elections, run for government office, or try to change governments. We obey God by never favoring any candidate or political party over another, regardless of whether they seem to support or oppose our interests. Bible gives solid reasons for following this course. For example - Jesus refused to accept political office. (John 6:15) He taught his disciples to be “no part of the world” and made it clear that they should not take sides in political issues.—John 17:16; 18:36; Mark 12:13-17. If you are loyal to God’s Kingdom, which Jesus spoke of when he said: “This good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth.” (Matthew 24:14) than as a representatives of God’s Kingdom, commissioned to proclaim its coming, you should remain neutral in the political affairs of all countries, including the one where you live.—2 Corinthians 5:20; Ephesians 6:20. If we avoid political divisions, we are united as an international brotherhood. (Colossians 3:14; 1 Peter 2:17) In contrast, if we meddle in politics we divide unity.—1 Corinthians 1:10. Political neutrality is not a modern innovation, the apostles and other first-century Christians took an identical stand toward governmental authority. Additionally, God’s word tells us to be obedient to human governments, yet it also teaches that we must obey God rather than men. (Acts 5:29; Titus 3:1) Is this a contradiction? Not at all! The principle of relative subjection helps us to understand and obey these commands. Jesus summarized this principle when he said: “Pay back, therefore, Caesar’s things to Caesar, but God’s things to God.” (Matt. 22:21) How do we follow Jesus’ direction? We submit to the authority of the government under which we live by obeying its laws, respecting its officials, and paying the taxes it levies. (Rom. 13:7) We pay back to God what is rightfully his, in part, by remaining neutral in the world’s political affairs. (Isa. 2:4) God lets the world’s political structure remain because it provides a measure of stability that, in turn, helps us to learn and preach the good news of the Kingdom. (Rom. 13:3, 4) God even directs us to pray concerning those in authority, especially when their decisions might affect our worship. (1 Tim. 2:1, 2) This is in harmony with the Bible’s command: “Let every person be in subjection to the superior authorities.” (Romans 13:1) That also means that we obey the law, pay taxes, and cooperate with efforts of the government to provide for the welfare of its citizens.
