When the civil war happened, is that what God was referring to when he said brother will turn against brother?

Matthew 10:21 - 23

KJV - 21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. 22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

If the reference in the question is to the American Civil War, I do not believe that Jesus was referring to it, or to any other conflicts like it that arise from political causes. Rather, he was referring specifically to disagreements or hatred (even within the same family and to the point of death) that would arise between people who would believe in Him as the Messiah versus those who would not.
