What did blossoms in the desert signify? (Isaiah 35:1–2)

Joy of the Redeemed
35 The desert and the parched land will be glad;
    the wilderness will rejoice and blossom.
Like the crocus, 2 it will burst into bloom;
    it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy.
The glory of Lebanon will be given to it,
    the splendor of Carmel and Sharon;
they will see the glory of the Lord,
    the splendor of our God.

Isaiah 35:1 - 2

ESV - ¹ The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the crocus. ² It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the majesty of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the Lord, the majesty of our God.
