For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them (Isaiah 61:7)

✿ It refers to double blessings in the next life for the followers of Christ.

✿ Israel will enter their eternal program as planned by God for them, beginning when the Messiah comes.
When he comes, everlasting joy shall be unto them ((Is 61:7b). Instead of shame you will receive double of what you formerly possessed, and will rejoice in your blessings.

✿ Zechariah 9:12 says, Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore TWICE much to you. The covenant by which the prisoners of Zion escaped, or will yet escape, is the new covenant (Mt. 26:28; Heb. 8:6; 9:15). Just what prisoners are definitely referred to those who will be held as prisoners literally in the day of the coming of the Messiah. They are called "prisoners of hope" in Zech. 9:12, and it is clear that they will be alive at the time of this fulfillment, when Israel will be delivered from Antichrist and saved by the Lord at His second coming (Zech. 9:12-17).
