Was the cross an actual cross, or was it a beam that Jesus was crucified upon?
I have read about many versions of the cross, and a few people have actually stated it was a beam and not two pieces of wood crossed together that Jesus was crucified upon. Which is right?
Matthew 27:1 - 66
ESV - 1 When morning came, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death. 2 And they bound him and led him away and delivered him over to Pilate the governor.
