Living in uncertainty doesn't make sense because there is no gain or loss, rather it makes more sense to believe in God. The bible instructs on serious implications for those who never developed a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Is it not a shame and a pity that a human being that was created by God can ultimately come to the conclusion that God actually does not exist or that it's impossible to know that He does?
If an agnostic did decide to pray would it be something like this:
"God, if there is a God, please save my soul, if I have one"?

I am an agnostic. To me, that means I will not dogmatically believe that God exists or does not exist until someone can definitely prove that one of these premises is false:
god exists
God does not exist

I avoid all 'isms' and organized religions.

Either we choose to believe God exists or we choose to believe He does not exist. Jesus said in Matthew 12:30 “He who is not with Me is against Me…” therefore we either believe what Jesus has revealed to us about God or we do not.

While we may not be able to prove that God exists, the biblical evidence of the eye witnesses (the gospels) is that Jesus was a historical person who performed miracles (if there is no God then miracles do not occur) and that He rose from the dead.

Since Jesus was resurrected from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:14, 17) means He is reliable and we can trust Him and His teachings about Himself, the Father and the Holy Spirit (John 14:9).
