Perhaps this is the wrong question. What you or I do with our resources is more important than the system in common use. The new testament believers seemed to be quite communistic in their interactions, selling their property to provide for those who had had a need.

Capitalism in the USA today has led to great disparity between rich and poor. Particularly now the needy are more and more left behind while the super rich are more isolated and privileged.
If you say God is in control anyway and most of us have a comfortable life, I would say that many empires have ignored this disparity until the poor rebel.

I suggest that the Jesus way is to help the needy, the disadvantaged and the maginalized. Look at the questions he asks in Matthew 24. He doesn't seem to care about your monetary system. He is concerned with what you did.
