John 10:14-30

I Am the Good Shepherd

¹⁴ _m I am the good shepherd. _n I know my own and _o my own know me, ¹⁵ _p just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and _q I lay down my life for the sheep. ¹⁶ And _r I have other sheep that are not of this fold. _s I must bring them also, and _t they will listen to my voice. So there will be _u one flock, _v one shepherd. ¹⁷ _w For this reason the Father loves me, _x because _y I lay down my life that I may take it up again. ¹⁸ _z No one takes it from me, but _y I lay it down _a of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and _b I have authority to take it up again. _c This charge I have received from my Father."

¹⁹ _d There was again a division among the Jews because of these words. ²⁰ Many of them said, _e "He has a demon, and _f is insane; why listen to him?" ²¹ Others said, "These are not the words of one who is oppressed by a demon. _g Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?"

I and the Father Are One

²² At that time the Feast of Dedication took place at Jerusalem. It was winter, ²³ and Jesus was walking in the temple, _h in the colonnade of Solomon. ²⁴ So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, "How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are _i the Christ, _j tell us plainly." ²⁵ Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you do not believe. _k The works that I do _l in my Father's name bear witness about me, ²⁶ but _m you do not believe because you are not part of my flock. ²⁷ _n My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. ²⁸ _o I give them eternal life, and _p they will never perish, and _q no one will snatch them out of my hand. ²⁹ My Father, _r who has given them to me, _{1 s} is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of _t the Father's hand. ³⁰ _u I and the Father are one."
