Judgment on Kedar and Hazor
s Against Kedar and against the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon shall strike.
Thus says the LORD:
"Arise, go up to Kedar,
And devastate t the men of the East!
Their u tents and their flocks they shall take away.
They shall take for themselves their curtains,
All their vessels and their camels;
And they shall cry out to them,
v 'Fear is on every side!'
"Flee, get far away! Dwell in the depths,
O inhabitants of Hazor!" says the LORD.
"For Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has taken counsel against you,
And has conceived a plan against you.
"Arise, go up to w the wealthy nation that dwells securely," says the LORD,
"Which has neither gates nor bars,
x Dwelling alone.
Their camels shall be for booty,
And the multitude of their cattle for plunder.
I will y scatter to all winds those in the farthest corners,
And I will bring their calamity from all its sides," says the LORD.
"Hazor z shall be a dwelling for jackals, a desolation forever;
No one shall reside there,
Nor son of man dwell in it."

So it was, whenever Israel had sown, Midianites would come up; also Amalekites and the people of the East would come up against them.
Also, his possessions were seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred female donkeys, and a very large household, so that this man was the greatest of all the people of the East.
Woe is me, that I dwell in Meshech, That I dwell among the tents of Kedar!
Why have I seen them dismayed and turned back? Their mighty ones are beaten down; They have speedily fled, And did not look back, For fear was all around," says the LORD.
You will say, 'I will go up against a land of unwalled villages; I will go to a peaceful people, who dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates' -
For from the top of the rocks I see him, And from the hills I behold him; There! A people dwelling alone, Not reckoning itself among the nations.
Then Israel shall dwell in safety, The fountain of Jacob alone, In a land of grain and new wine; His heavens shall also drop dew.
The nations shall see and be ashamed of all their might; They shall put their hand over their mouth; Their ears shall be deaf.
Therefore fathers shall eat their sons in your midst, and sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments among you, and all of you who remain I will scatter to all the winds.
"I will make Jerusalem a heap of ruins, a den of jackals. I will make the cities of Judah desolate, without an inhabitant."
Behold, the noise of the report has come, And a great commotion out of the north country, To make the cities of Judah desolate, a den of jackals.
Therefore, as I live," Says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, "Surely Moab shall be like Sodom, And the people of Ammon like Gomorrah - Overrun with weeds and saltpits, And a perpetual desolation. The residue of My people shall plunder them, And the remnant of My people shall possess them.

"You Ethiopians also, You shall be slain by My sword."
But Esau I have hated, And laid waste his mountains and his heritage For the jackals of the wilderness.
