How are we as Christians to deal with the feeling and intention by many ministers of God that; to be a minister of God, I must be seen to be greater than and above all the rest of fellow ministers? Is competition allowed in the work of God?

For there seems to be a lot of competition amongst many ministers of God. There is hardly any cohesion. By doing this, could we still be counted as serving God? Should serving God be about how we are seen to be great, or it is about fulfilling and accomplishing God's purpose in us? How are we supposed to go about and deal with this situation?
