Is being a minister of God just enough to be justified by God?

If I am a minister of God, and my ministry is God's business (doing the work he has called me to), can I count that enough to be accepted/approved of by God? If not so, why not just be a Christian and that is all?

It is pretty lovely to serve the Lord. For I feel more accomplished and mesmerized when I am being referred to as servant of God. For Jesus gives unprecedented promises to whoever serves Him. He says in John 12:26 that where He is, there His servant shall be. No purposeful man of God wouldn't love this. Yet this is not the reason to be justified by God. For a relationship with God is not about our servant role. For much as you are a servant, it is about you that you go to heaven, not about the role you play. Our servant roles therefore should be secondary. Your primary role should be about yourself.

For spiritual life is about a relationship with God. God is a personal experience not primarily based on what role we play, but on what we have decided to believe in. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life" John 3:16. Note the words; "...whoever believes in Him..." This is about self, not what role you play, but what you have chosen to believe in. Have you committed your life to Jesus Christ and do you believe He is Lord? Are you personally obedient to Him in sense of the meaning of the word? The result of this is what determines if you are to be justified or not.

Is serving the Lord therefore not as important?

It is pretty important that we serve the Lord. But this must be on top of our submission to Christ. Serving the Lord adds us unprecedented favor from the Lord. To have a tip of how importantly God takes His servants, Jeremiah 48:10 says; "Cursed is he who does the work of the Lord with slackness". We are only being called to be mindful of what our relationship with the Lord is as we equally unsparingly serve Him. So, securing our lives as servants of God is pretty important and should go ahead of anything to be, but yet serving God should equally follow suit.

What kind of life should therefore a servant of God live?

Any servant of God should have two lives to live and these are;

1) The primary life and this is about self
2) The secondary life and this about others.

The primary life and this is about self

Pray for yourself first before you pray for anybody else. Make sure you are standing right with God. The anointing upon you to execute your duties as a servant of God is not as a result of your personal spiritual successes, for it is by virtue of being the servant of God. For there are many strong leaders, even in the secular world, yet they are terribly failing in their personal private lives. As that, your personal spiritual and life failings can't be justified basing on your status as a servant of God. For there is one sacrifice for the remission of the human sin and that is the one made by Jesus Christ. If you can't do with this, then there is no alternative. Thus Paul says; "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway" 1Corinthians 9:27.

The secondary life and this about others.

Yet as a servant of God, work tirelessly to help others live a meaningful life. Give them a reason to realize the love of Jesus in their lives. For when we get Born Again, we cease to be only for ourselves, but equally for others. For we should always decide to express the God in us (1Corinthians 9:19). For serving the Lord is not in isolation, it is about changing the lives of His people both spiritually and literally. For ministry to God is about being of value to God's people. The value in you will attract anybody to you. We serve God by serving His People (Matthew 25:32-41). Thus when we serve the Lord, it is not about our humanism, for it is about our obedience to God.

The anointing to have the dead rise, the lame walk, the deaf hear can be so lovely, but this is what Jesus said to Peter in Luke 22:31-32; "But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not; and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren". WE OUGHT TO SERVE HIM.
