The Psalmist also wrote in 51:5 "Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me."

I believe this verse teaches that the sin nature is transmitted at the moment of conception.
How? I Do not know. I do know the Bible clearly teaches that the human race fell through Adam. 

Romans 5:12 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:"
Romans 5:13 " For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law."
Romans 5:14 " Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come."

1 Corinthians 15:22 "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive."

We need to understand that ALL have an inherrent nature that is bent toward sin. It is not an acquired skill, although some are obviously better at it than others.
We are not sinners because we sin, we sin because we are sinners.

Not only are we born sinful but we come into this world helplessly chained by the bondage of sin (Romans 3:23, 6:23). While we do not have a choice over this sinful condition which is automatically imputed upon us, we do however have a solution in that Jesus died for us and opened the way for the cure of the Adamic sin (John 3:16). Only Christ was born sinless, being fully man and fully divine as God the Son. Scripture declares that God made him who knew no sin to be sin so that we might become the righteousness of God (2 Cor. 5:21)

Can we live a sinless life as believers in this world? Not at all. Scripture recognizes that we have no capacity to be sinless or to be without sin. 1 John 1:8-10 says "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us." The blood is continually available for our cleansing so long as we walk in fellowship with God and with one another as God's children who belong to His eternal household (John 1:12). 

Those who teach perfection of saints are misreading scripture. Living in obedience to God does not convey a life of sinlessness or absolute moral purity before God. No human beign is capable of such living in this world. 

Apostle Paul recognized that we can never completely avoid sin and lamented over the power of our sinful nature in continuing to war over our spiritual nature. In Romans 7:22-25 Paul contends..." For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin." 

Paul was not declaraing that we cannot obey God or that he was living in sin. He was simply acknowledging the reality of our sinful nature that continuous to offend our new (spiritual) nature in Christ, resisting the things of God. 

The Bible recognizes that our salvation is a gift of God so that he whom the Son sets free (spiritually) is free indeed. (John 8:36). God accounts for us righteousness and justifies us on the basis of the shed blood of Christ and our faith in God and nothing we do can change this fact. 

Even then we dwell in a sinful world where sin reigns and this world is not a perfect place for sinless living which is only possible in heaven in the presence of God. We can however live in obedience in this sinful world and abide with God by His grace. Meanwhile, the battle between our spiritual nature and our sinful nature continues until we are completely freed from our human bodies. This is the battle that every child of God has to continuously contend with so long as we are still in the human body. 

Only two events will separate us from this state. One is death in Christ. Psalm 116:15 says "Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints." The second event is our rapture or being taken up or caught up to be with the Lord when He returns for His Church. This is an event that will be exclusive to those who shall be alive and in Christ when the Lord returns (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18).

Of course, yes. We are born sinful. The Bible confirms this explicitly. It says in Psalm 51:5 that "Behold, I was sharpen in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me."

This sinful nature came as a result of the disobedience of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. You will agree with me that we are the descendants of Adam and Eve. We inherited the sinful nature from Adam and Eve. 

This position is also supported by Romans 5:12 where we read that: "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin,and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned."

However, we have redemption through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross for our salvation.
