Who was Jesus referring to when He spoke of His 'other sheep'?

Could He have been referring to the saved souls in Abraham' Bosom? I have lately been wondering about the other sheep. It seems logical to me that Jesus was referring to those souls waiting in Abraham's Bosom. Scripture tells us that they were given the good news from Christ Himself after the crucifixion. I know Mormons believe He was talking about the Americas, but I have yet to find any evidence to support this theory. Am I the only one to think He was talking about preaching to the souls that waited for so long and did not have the opportunity during their lifetimes?

John 10:16

ESV - 16 And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.
