Why do people still die of starvation when Jesus says God will provide food and clothing etc?

Jesus says don't be anxious about your life what you will wear etc.
Why do people still starve to death?

Matthew 6:25 - 34

ESV - 25 Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

In a perfect world there would be no hunger. The whole of creation groans till that which is perfect comes.
Of course this is simplistic, compared to the humanly impossible task at hand. We could talk about issues from financial need to, how can I put this, .... umm aid given not getting to those in need due to those in greed.

Sometimes, death can be a gift - freedom from hunger, suffering, worries and pain. God gives it at the right moment of our life, thus welcoming us home i.e. eternal bliss.

I feel that you think of death by starvation as a tragedy. From a different perspective, it is quite liberating.

Vincent, death is not the focus, starvation is. The questioner is attempting to hold God accountable for what Jesus said about Him feeding and clothing us. He's not complaining about the end result, but the devastating hunger. Neither death nor starvation is good for us. Death is a curse according to the Bible. And starvation is a horrible way to expire. I don't wish to be liberated like that, and I don't know anyone who does.

First of all the Scripture comes with the caveat that one should be seeking the kingdom of God or his righteousness. This seems to be a promise to those in the pentecostal or evangelical church. Those dwelt by the Spirit. Secondly the promise of provision of food and clothing that is given freely to hundreds of millions of American unbelievers by God's common grace will certainly not be forsaken from the new Israel. And so believers are doubly assured that the God who even clothes flowers will not leave them naked. So the double promise should not leave us worrying about our paychecks like unbelievers. In fact, even if believers become unemployed for decades they will always have food, clothing and so forth.
