In answer I would like to share my experience. My (then) 3 year old child and I take communion together fairly often in our home. Jesus said to 'do this often in remembrance of Me' & I desire to obey Him. We pray and praise God, and she knows it is Jesus body and blood and it has the power to heal and set us free.

So as we are taking communion she asks "Does it hurt Jesus when we eat His Body and Drink His Blood?" My heart stopped. I did not have the wisdom to answer this question. I knew "BY FAITH" it IS His body and blood, but HOW to explain that to a 3 year old child? I mumbled but I CRIED out to Jesus inside... Lord, HOW do I answer this for her.

God said if we would ASK for wisdom HE will supply it! HE DID!

In an instant He gave me the perfect answer for her:

I said... here is a picture of papa! Is that Him? She said 'yes', it was.. I said if we rip this picture will it hurt papa? She said 'No' I said, it is the same with the communion body & blood of Jesus.. is it Jesus.. yes.. it's like a "picture" of His body and blood.. is it really Him.. yes... does it hurt him? No, because it's like a 'picture' of Him!

God is very gracious!
