It seems to me that a great deal of prayer is focused upon requests and petitions, however does it not include plain conversation as well? Prayer should be more. In thinking about Enoch, his walk and relationship with God was so normal that I like to think it was more conversational. In John 17, it appears that Jesus is pouring out the thoughts of his heart intermixed with petitions.

Wow! I will NEVER forget the time God answered my prayer ~ in LESS THAN 1/2 hour!

For many years I enjoyed making a No~Bake Cookie recipe. After all ~ it had won 3rd Place at the Las Vegas Jaycees' State Fair. My one trouble with it was that sometimes it came out too runny. The flavor was still there, it just didn't set, and I would end up eating it with a spoon.

One day, a church picnic was coming up, and I REALLY wanted to make my cookies for the picnic, but I was nervous about them coming out runny again. I asked God to PLEASE show me the part where I did something that was going to end up making it runny,

I started making them, and doing all the steps I normally did to make the recipe. JUST as I was doing one step that I normally did, I KNOW I heard in my mind "STOP! THINK about this step." I looked at and thought about what I was about to do, and thought, "It THAT all it was? This seemingly insignificant step?" I skipped this step, and the cookies came out PEFRECTLY! They were a hit at the picnic!

What was the change? The recipe calls for softened butter, so I had always melted the required amount of butter in the microwave to soften them. The butter I used now, however, is already soft from the fridge. This means that when I put it in the microwave, they made the butter runny, which in turn made the cookies runny.

I can NEVER thank the Lord enough for showing me what I had been doing wrong in my recipe!

Prayer is seeking the presence of God. As His child you are welcome in ways that He will show and guide you. He will give you the words to pray back to Him. You are welcome at all times and it is not a time slot but a union that is a blessing. Thanking Him always and there will be times when you just sit at His feet.
