I have questioned the Lord many times. I usually get the same answer after a long time. Just trust me. OK Lord. What other options do I have? NONE. God owes us nothing. We can ask for anything, but He only gives us what is good for us. And lean not unto your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths. Notice He said He will direct our paths. Not us. We can make plans and set goals, but God owns us and can do with us whatever He wants. Can the clay question the potter? So, if anyone has God all figured out, let me know. I don't. All I can do is trust Him. He knows what HE is doing and I do not know. I believe every word of he Bible, but understand very little. I understand the way of salvation by grace through faith alone, but after that, He always surprises me. But as Abraham said, will not the God of heaven do right? Abraham tried to bargain with God to save Sodom. All the Bible talks about Lot is all his backsliding, but in the New Testament he is called a righteous man. That makes no sense to us. But when we understand God's ways better, we realize we are all sinners and deserve to go to hell. So for God to declare Lot righteous because of his faith, is a true statement. We are not declared righteous because of what we do but because of our faith. If righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. Galatians 2:21. I understand Gods ways better now than I did 20 years ago, but I still don't know anything. How can the finite understand the infinite. I know one thing, if God be for us, who can be against us. Who can separate us from the love of God? Romans 8. I love Him who wrote the book. I know I will be praising Him forever in heaven for eternity for saving a wretch like me.

It's not wrong to ask God questions, otherwise how would you gain knowledge about things that you don't understand? What you shouldn't question or dispute is His Will once it is done.

For an example of the right way to question God, look at Abraham's questions in Genesis 18:16-33. He has a genuine desire to understand how his God balances judgement and mercy. He is respectful and acknowledges that God has the right to judge all the earth. God knows the heart of Abraham and the chapter records, "The LORD said, 'Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?'" For an example of how to question God and remain obedient to His Will, look no further than Jesus in Gethsemane, who asked three times, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” (Matt 26:36-46)

Many Godly people have question God through the ages. Some like David and Moses and others that have question God in the right manner with God being their God have gotten answers and have changed the course of their lives. Others have run away from God, like Jonah who after many hardships summitted to God's Will and finally came to terms with Him. You have to have that personal relationship with Him, but answers will come in accordance with God's Will. Time stood still when the prayer and asking God for help happened in battle. You learn by questioning and listening for His response attentively. Yes, you can question God because He loves (agape) us and wants the best things for His children. Still, the most important thing is to obey Him, follow His Son whom He sent to teach us about Himself and listen to the Holy Spirit living in you to guide your life. Some like King Saul and King Solomon started well and questioned God, but then they went back to self instead of obeying God, and God left them with out answering. Acknowledge God daily and walk with Him Daily and your questions will be answered and he will guide your path.

I believe it is not wrong to ask GOD questions. GOD welcomes the opportunity to prove why He is GOD. I know there have been many times in my life when I didn't understand GOD's plan, but thankfully, GOD has blessed me with a wonderful Christian woman who comforts me during many trying times in our lives. But I always try to remember to praise GOD in all things because He and His plan are perfect.

The question goes: is it right to question God? My understanding here is that the questioner is asking if it is ever right to subject God's actions to human criticism. My answer to the question in the context in which I understood it is that it is unbiblical and futile to subject the sovereign acts of God to critical human scrutiny. Irrespective of how unpleasant God’s decisions or actions may appear to us, the fact remains that God does no error neither does he make any mistakes in all that He does. We cannot fully conceive or comprehend the ways of God (Isaiah 55:7-8). In Job 30, Job concludes his questions about the acts of God in subjecting him to deep suffering. His friends take up the arguments from where He left. In Job 37, God answers Job and confounds him so that Job finally concedes that his understanding of the working of God was faulty. God also rebuked Jobs friends for the ignorance and for wrongfully blaming Jobs misfortunes on his sin. Let me conclude by stating that God's actions are pure, perfect and informed by His immeasurable divine wisdom. The Bible teaches in James 1:17 that God is the Father of lights in whom there is no variableness or shadow of turning. We therefore have no basis whatsoever for questioning God but to glorify Him for all He does and to subject everything to His sovereignty. The story is told of one preacher who questioned God for the suffering of God's people and ultimately walked away from the Faith, claiming that he could not reconcile the circumstances of suffering that he had witnessed among some suffering saints. This was unfortunate and regrettable. No matter what we undergo in this passing evil world, we must bear in mind that God never abandons us in peril. Even the saints of old persevered, looking to the great city whose builder is God where their eternal reward awaited them (Hebrews 11).
