In Luke 23:43, Jesus declared, "Truly I say to you, today you shall be with me in paradise." The word Jesus used for "paradise" is paradeisos which means "a park, that is, (specifically) an Eden (p...

Nothing this earth has to offer can compare to the peace and serenity we will experience of being constantly surrounded by the love, compassion and love of Christ.. Just knowing that God is in control of all things relieves us of the burden of worrying about what is happening with our loved ones still on this earth. We pray for our loved ones how much pure will our prayers be when our spirits are with our Lord.

Heaven must always be seen as a dimension where love reigns supreme, where no stain of darkness exists and where relationships have bee restored to be what the Lover always meant it to be.

Heaven is a dimension of pure light and where secrets do not exist. It is in reality a preamble of what will be once this system of things comes to an end for good.

We know very little a out the love of God because the church is out of sync with His vision, but if we re-discovered the Lover of our souls, our hearts would be full of heaven.

Heaven is not a place but a reflection of what God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit intend to bring out as soon as we recognize that we are NOW the sons of God, the lover of His creation.

The real question is what will we be doing on the new earth. Answer enjoying life in a perfect world like we would have if Adam hadn't sinned.

The definition of hell is separation from God and the definition of heaven is being with God. We can and do experience heaven and he'll on earth. When we follow the Lord and walk in His ways we are experiencing a small foretaste of heaven. When we sin and are apart from God we are experiencing a foretaste of hell. Heaven after death on earth is a state of constant oneness with God which gives us a joy and bliss beyond description or comprehension. Hell after death on earth is a constant state of separation from God leading to inexpressible grief and agony for eternity.

The question is "what we will be doing in heaven?"

The answer is nothing! Heaven is not the reward of the saved. The earth is the place where we will be co-inheriting and co-ruling with Jesus who plainly said "the meek shall inherit the earth"

The answer as what the saints will be doing in heaven is found in the scriptures:
1. Daniel 7:13, 14, 17, 18, 21, 22, 27 and Isaiah 9:6, 7 show that they will be given the kingdom , the same that God would give to Jesus Christ who will head the only government that will be in charge of the whole world.
2. Luke 12:32 confirms what Daniel said in Dan 7:18, 21 that God will give the kingdom to the saints, same as little flock. 3. Luke 22:28-30 shows the people going to heaven will rule and judge with Jesus in heaven. 4. Rev 5:9, 10; 14:1-3 20:4-6lead us to know that those going to heaven are going there to form a government along with Jesus, and from there, will rule the world for a thousand years in the first instance and then for ever and ever. This arrangement is in line with God's promise to Abraham that all the earth will be blessed by his seed.

Simply put, what we do in heaven is "looking at God and seeing Him as He is".

The effect of this action is seeing all of creation, past, present and future because we are no longer bound by time and space.

We will be serving God, each to His own duty of service appointed. I believe it may be possible that these appointments will depend upon what we did in the old Earth. The more good works you did the higher and closer position you will have serving our Lord.

These are my speculations from what I have read in the Bible. I'm sorry I can't quote Scripture on this.

I would like to answer primarily to Darren Williams’ question posted a few days ago and merged here.

We are promised that Christ will return to take where He is (John 14:3). God will recreate our earth to be new again and live with us right here (Rev 21:3). At that time, our home planet will become heaven.

The Bible says, “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him” (1 Cor 2:9). God has created for us unimaginable variety and wonder throughout His Universe for us to enjoy. And the Bible gives us a few clues that eternity with God will be incredible awesome.

-We will plant and build (Isaiah 65:21).

-We will be surrounded by breathtaking nature. Heaven will be full of all kind of friendly creatures who will be our pets (Isaiah 11:6-9; 65:25).

-We will be reunited with loved ones. Our family and friends who have chosen to serve Christ will be there and will spend eternity together (1 Thessalonians 4:13, 14).

-We will make new friends and will spend time with Bible heroes we’ve read about in the Bible (Matthew 8:11)

But best of all, we will be able to visit face to face with our God and spend time with our Redeemer, Jesus. (Rev 22:4).

I don’t know about fishing (maybe only catch and release), but there will be plenty to occupy eternity - like enjoying the most delicious foods we’ve ever eaten, traveling and exploring the rest of God's Universe, listening to and participating in the most beautiful music we have ever heard, worshiping before God’s glorious throne, building relationships with angels and other created beings, and endless other activities that we do not even know exist.

I'm glad you asked. We as Saints will be rejoicing with him, eternally, and living with him; no sickness, nor heartache, nothing!

We will be singing as Michael said (Isaiah 44:23; Hebrews 2:12 --saying,
"I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise"; Revelation 14:3; 15:3). I look forward to this most of all. I love singing! I sang in 2 choirs at Scottsdale Bible Church in Scottsdale, Arizona (Adult and Youth choirs). I led singing at a church in Wisconsin as a pastor for 7 years, too. Most of those years were with a guitar or piano accompaniment. I love singing with others and with instrumentation!

We'll be serving as both Michael and Judy said (Revelation 7:15; 22:3) -- "No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him." (NIV).

Actually, we won't go to 'heaven'. When we die we go to the grave. The irresponsible, those who don't have a true knowledge of the Truth will die and stay in the grave forever. They won't go to heaven and they won't go to hell. Those which are responsible and die, will still go to the grave, but they have a hope of something greater to come! They have a hope to be resurrected when Christ returns!

Many faithful people in the Bible were aware that they wouldn't be in the grave for long. They would later be resurrected (then judged) and given a place in the Kingdom of our Heavenly Father. Some people in particular include: Abraham (Hebrews 11:12-13), Job (Job 19:25), David (2 Samuel 7), and countless more. I just decided to highlight the more popular people which this audience would recognize immediately. SO, to answer your question, we won't be doing ANYTHING in heaven, those who are deemed worthy and enter into the joy of the Father's Kingdom will be a kingdom of priests (Revelation 5:10), forever reigning with Christ!
