In moderation always exercising self control and Godliness. What can I watch? Well if you find your self wanting to turn off the channel if your pasture knocks at the door then perhaps you should rethink that program. I have trouble finding acceptable programing and sit with my remote in my hand ready to mute or change the channel on things that I cannot unsee. Is it a sin? Something's just create problems later as the enemy has had many generations to create dissention and we only have allotted years. When I was young they said it is the tool of the devil, yet Bob Barker did not seem malevolent or anti Christian. Looking back I see a gradual progression. To where we are now, make no mistake my friend we are on the eve of destruction. (society, Jesus knows how to keep His own) Self control and moderation, remember turning off the TV sends the message that there choices are unacceptable to you the consumer. Money is their motivation and rarely nothing else. Boycott and refuse to support advertisers who promote during unacceptable programing.You only surrender power when you refuse to participate. It is a business with a bottom line. The love of money is the root for all evil.

As Christians we know the difference between good and evil. But in this day and age evil seems to run rampant on TV and everywhere else. We just have to tune out the evil to get the good. There is much on that I will not watch, but you would have to be blind even on some commercials not to see something you probably should not see.. Some will not watch TV but stand outside a swimming pool watching practically nude women. We still live in this world although not of it. In many things we all stumble. It is what is in our hearts that God looks at. We still have our old sinful nature and we should not try to feed it, but you cannot just stay in your house and do nothing either. In this day and age we really need to depend on God to keep us from sin. But when we do we have an advocate with the Father. Just because you see a half naked women anywhere does not mean you have to dwell on it. Over come evil with good. Of course, if you are looking for evil you can find it on the internet more than on TV. God knows we are still human and we are not made perfect yet. Thank God for grace and forget those things that are behind and press on toward the mark. I think everyone has to decide these things for themselves and not judge others in what they do which tends to just make us self righteous. There is far to much of looking down our spritual noses at others to make ourselves look better to God. If we can just make our brother look bad it somehow lifts us up. Pharasee?

Yes and no is the answer. Knowledge is power so if you can gain knowledge from a program, yes is the answer. No is the answer if the program is wasting time that could be used for something more constructive. Your eye gate and ear gate needs protected as much as possible from the influences of sinful behaviors. Bad company currupts good behaviors. All media is either a good or bad influence on your own behavior and thought life. 1 Corinthian 15:33 Josuha 23: 1-16

When I was a kid an uncle of mine "got saved" and became a completely different person. One of the first things he did was get rid of his tv. Back then that was a simple matter because there was only one in most households. I remember thinking 'whatever happened to him, I hope to never happen to me'. He soon returned to a more normal way but he had some of his family a little worried at first. I'm glad to be able to watch whatever I want on tv and not disturb my relationship with The Lord. If He ever communicates to me to stop watching tv I'll TRY to stop. I'll need plenty of help from Him because it is a powerful addiction. It's no different from everything else I like to do. I'm thankful to God that He is able to guard that which has been entrusted to me.

Television is an important communication and information tool available to the community and to the society at large. As a Christian we need to have discernment as part of our lives. There are Christian shows and programs which can edify, correct, and exhort us. Same with secular TV shows. But There are also shows and programmes that are telecasted on TV that are not beneficial, moral and useful for a Christian. I guess today's Christians are also using TV for respite, relaxing and entertainment purposes, so more caution has to be applied. Many times in the name of entertainment a lot of ungodly, unscriptural and subjective morality is portrayed even in Christian channels. It becomes so crucial for a Christian to hold a discerned mind when it comes to watching television.
