What a wonderful question! Here is my story; the story of another Jew, like yourself, who had asked this very same question many years ago:I grew up in an orthodox Jewish home in New York, and seve...

It was John the Baptist, the last Old Testament prophet and a herald of Jesus, a fellow Jew, who declared that Jesus is the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world.

Peter, a Jew, later proclaimed that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God and Jesus acknowledged that the revelation was from God!

All the disciples, being Jews, and including his own mother Mary worshiped Jesus! No Jew would bow down to a man in the same way they would do to Yahweh!

Notice that the discourse between Jesus and the stubborn Jews in John 8 ended when they sought to stone Him after He declared that "before Abraham was, I AM"

Jesus is indeed the Messiah, the Savior of the Jew and the Gentile. He broke down the wall that separated the two communities (Ephesians 2).

Therefore, a Jew can indeed place his saving faith on Jesus Christ and obtain the forgiveness of sin.

Those who reject Him as Messiah will mourn when He comes as King to conquer His enemies and reign a thousand years. They will discover that they had been gravely mistaken when they crucified Jesus in the place of Barabbas! (Matthew 27:1-26). Yet God blinded their eyes so that Jesus the Passover Lamb may be crucified.

The Bible teaches that God made Him sin who was without sin so that we may become the righteousness of God (2 Cor. 5:21).

Let the Jew and the Gentile seek the LORD while He may yet be found. Once the window of opportunity is closed, it will be too little too late.

Shalom

I thank God for Michael’s powerful testimony and bless him for his both being a descendant of Abraham according to the flesh, and for his acceptance of Jesus the Messiah who was both a descendant of Abraham according to the flesh, and the pre-existent Son of God who created all things. Shalom to you Michael.

It is very important to understand, in my opinion what has actually happened to the Jews that rejected Christ, The Jews that didn’t reject Him, and the Jews that choose to abandon their unbelief in Him and accept Him as their wonderful King. When Christ ascended into heaven after addressing His apostles on the mount of Olivet He had left His Apostles with the task of taking the gospel (Good News of Salvation through believing all that the Scriptures spoke of Jesus Christ) into the entire world. What Isaiah chapter 11 had prophesied concerning the Gentiles was about to transpire.

In Isaiah 11:1 It declares that a shooting branch would come from the branch of Jesse the father of King David, and then goes on to describe the ministry of Messiah. This Branch is indeed the Messiah Jesus Christ. In Zechariah 3:8 the Branch is the same Branch of Jesse. He is Joshua the High Priest that bore the filthy garments of Man’s Sin and the Foundation Stone that the Church would be built upon. The removing of the Sins was done on Calvary where Jesus the sinless Savior would become a curse that we might come, both Jew and Gentile, to be purified by that removal of sin made possible by His death. In Zechariah 11:10 The Rod of Jesse is called “Noam” meaning Splendor or Grace by which God would break His covenant (the Old Covenant) and usher in the New Covenant by the Blood of Christ on Calvary.

How would God break that Covenant? By Christ becoming a curse hanging on the tree (the cross). Under the Old Covenant anyone hanging on a tree was cursed by God. So it pleased the Father to crush Him and allow them to hang the Holy One of Israel on that tree as the substitute for us that we might not have to pay the penalty that was due to us, both Jew and Gentile. We were all condemned and without hope and would all perish and go to hell except for what The Father accomplished through His precious Son who bore the sins of us all.

So having accomplished that for all mankind, the message of Salvation was sent to the Gentiles to fulfill the great promise made to Abraham, that he would be the father of many nations. To accomplish this God chose a man who at first sought to destroy the Church which until then was only reaching Jews. He was like a ferocious lion binding, imprisoning and approving of their martyrdom. Until this man who was named Saul of Tarsus was confronted by Jesus in a blinding light from heaven and was converted. From that time this Lion was as gentle as a lamb and would dwell among the Children of God doing them no harm. This man Saul would be the instrument to fulfill God’s promise in

Isa 11:10..And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

Romans 15:3-16

This great apostle showed his deep love for his own people and it is described in Romans 11. Please take note of these Scriptures, Rom 11:20-24
The natural Jew was broken off because of unbelief in Christ as their Messiah, and should they choose to believe in Him they are grafted back into the blessing of the Church that began with the physical sons of Abraham, the natural Jews that were Christ’s disciples from the beginning.
Shalom

Yes, Jews can believe in Jesus (Yeshua). In fact, all the first Christians were JEWISH. The apostle Paul was an observant Jew, and he took the Gospel to the Gentile world, at the command of Jesus. But he always went to the synagogue first, whenever he entered a new city. "To the Jew first, and also to the Gentiles."Romans 1:16

This question is being represented in our daily Bible Reading. The responses so far all have explored the answer as Yes. I say No.

Now, let me explain. From a Biblical sense, there are only two categories of people, Jews or Gentiles. Neither Jews or Gentiles can become a Christian. Why because a Christian is not something that is manufactured, a Christian is a Supernatural being that has been become a New Creation. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

You may say that what I said is just semantics, but I am trying to make a point. A Christian is just a human name given to people who follow Jesus Christ. It was introduced in the Bible in (Acts 11:26) as disciples being called this in a deriding way.

People whether Jews or Gentiles become children of God by being born again, then they are labeled Christians because the only way to truly be a child of God is through Jesus the Christ or Messiah. (John 14:6)

I just wanted to make the point it doesn't matter what a Jew or Gentile is labeled, it is most important whether they are in Jesus the Christ or not, and He knows them as His. (Matthew 7:23)

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the POWER of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

All of the first converts were Jews. Peter did not even know that Gentiles could be saved until God showed him by sending a net down from heaven and told Peter to eat. There was all kinds of food that Jews were forbidden to eat.

Paul was the Apostle God chose to preach the gospel to the Gentiles. But he first preached in the temple.

Salvation by grace is to both Jews and Greeks. John 6:47. First Corinthians 15:1-4. There is no other gospel. Galatians 1:6-9.

Romans 11:6. All grace, no works. Free gift by a one time faith alone in Jesus alone apart from works or action.
