Luke 14:26

AMP - 26 If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his [own] father and mother [in the sense of indifference to or relative disregard for them in comparison with his attitude toward God] and [likewise] his wife and children and brothers and sisters--[yes] and even his own life also--he cannot be My disciple.

Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 1 john 4 20. At first this looks like the Bible is full of contradiction, but you have to read in context. God wants us to love one another; our family and our enemies even.

The other verse I think has to do with putting God first, and being willing to leave family for God, if they are against Him.
