Why would God snatch the truth from our mouths? (Psalm 119:43)

To me (and to put a more positive construction on what the psalmist is saying), the psalmist is not speaking of the possibility of God forcibly depriving him of God's truth or taking it away from him (which would put the initiative on God's side and give a negative impression of God), but he is asking that God may always grant him the continuing ability to speak God's truth (which expresses the speaker's own desired initiative).

This verse 43 is connected to the preceding verse. The Psalmist is using hyperbole (the language of exaggeration) to declare how important it is to him that he always have the courage and boldness to proclaim the truth of God's word to those who taunt him, who are sceptical unbelievers. The Psalmist never wants to be in a situation where he doesn't have "just the right word from God" to refute these sceptics, those who taunt him. The same literary technique is used by King David in Psalm 51:11 when he says "Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me." David is really saying how desperate he is to always experience God's presence and always have the Holy Spirit to guide him.
