Varying translations of this verse (as indicated on the biblehub.com website) evoke an image of the praises of Israel ascending to God and forming a metaphorical throne for Him (similar to the manner in which He was regarded as being "enthroned" between the outstretched wings of the cherubim on the Ark of the Covenant), so I would say that the idea of "inhabiting" Israel's praises is more accurately or clearly expressed by this idea of God doing so by being seated on the figurative throne created by those praises.

In the Old Testament, God dwelt among his people in various ways. He spoke to people directly through words from heaven, visions and dreams. He spoke to his people through his Prophets. Whenever God's people by faith, made sacrifices to God, in thanksgiving for what God had done and in praise of God's character, then God would reveal his presence to his people, mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. When Moses had constructed the Tent Meeting and placed the Ark of the Covenant inside it, God's presence came and dwelt in that place. Whenever God's people came to the Tent in praise and worship, they would experience the presence of God. The same thing happened when Solomon constructed the great temple for God in Jerusalem. When the temple was being dedicated, God came and dwelt in the Holy of Holy's in the temple. Every time the people came to the temple, to make their sacrifices in praise and thanksgiving to God, they would experience the presence of God. When Jesus came and established his church, the presence of God became resident in every Christian, because the Holy Spirit is given to everyone who believes. Every Christian has become the temple of the Holy Spirit. Whenever we give praise and thanks to God in worship, we experience the presence of God, as he inhabits the praises of his people. Jesus said, whenever and wherever that two or three people are gathered in his name, Jesus is there in the midst of them. This is a picture of the Christian church. God's presence is not in the church buildings, but it inhabits the Christians who assemble there to praise and worship God.
