Continually increasing knowledge of the vastness of the universe should impress every Christian with the inexpressible power and majesty of the God who created all of it. However, such knowledge (as noted in the question) can make any individual (even Christians) feel insignificant in comparison. It was to deal with such feelings that God revealed Himself to humanity, and (above all) incarnated Himself personally on this planet (as miniscule as it may seem from a universal perspective) to save its inhabitants from having to experience eternal separation from Him. Because God is omnisicent (in addition to being omnipotent and omnipresent), He has known every person who has ever lived on an individual level, and, through both the true deity and the true humanity of Christ, He extends the same love, mercy, and compassion that led to Christ's incarnation to each and every one of them.

How can God know me when the universe is so vast? The Word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah in 1:5 saying, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee…” Therefore, if God knew Jeremiah before birth or in the Spirit, He would know all of creation, since there is no respect of persons with God (Romans 2:11). Jeremiah 29:11 declares, “For I know the thoughts I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Moreover, the universe came forth from God, since all things were made by Him and without him was not anything made that was made (John 1:3). Further, Jesus states in John that in His Father’s house are many mansions… (John 14:2). Mansions can be dimensions, realms, etc., so this passage speaks to the vastness of the Creator. So, man, while being made in the image of God, if he slips into error by being more in tune with the finite matters of the flesh, may neglect the truth that mathematically, God specializes in the infinite. Evidence of the infinite is seen in geometry with the 180 degree straight angle that extends into infinity and the 360 degree circumference of the circle that like Melchizedek in Hebrews 7:3 has no beginning or no end. Since Melchizedek is an Old Testament archetype of the New Testament Christ, both serving in the capacity as High Priests, they set the stage for the everlasting Kingdom of God, which has no end (Daniel 4:3). A practical perspective might be to consider the works of the Creator relative to that of man. For instance, we see that God has made the sky, yet He has never had to effect repairs to it, unlike the roads that man constructs, which are usually repaired or patched somewhere every year. So, if the Creator can flawlessly hang the sky, it’s not a stretch for this same Creator to know you and discern the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). The challenge is to learn to come up higher as it pertains to thought processing, for His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:9). This also makes clear that the last battlefield is always in the mind.

The God revealed to us in the bible, who is the creator of everything that exists in the universe is an All-Knowing God. Here are a few examples of this. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please. From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that I will bring about; what I have planned, that I will do (Isaiah 46:10-11). Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account Hebrews 4:13). My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be (Psalm 139:15-16). Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered (Matthew 10:29-30). He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name (Psalm 147:4). God is infinite and sovereign over all his creation but he is also intimately involved in everything that happens in it, including the lives of every human being. God's open invitation to each one of us to have an intimate personal relationship with Him is why the bible was written.
