God is not in control of this world and has not been since the fall of man. Jesus (God) said it plainly and simply; "My Kingdom is not of this world." John 18:36

The relationship we have with Jesus is personal. It is not corporate, national or global. Whatever misfortune comes to us, whether it be a natural disaster, war or medical pandemic, is due to the nature of God's creation and man's sin.

God has determined that man will reign in this life and He will reign in the next. To say this COVID-19 pandemic is God's plan for us is negating the power of a loving God.

God does not put us through calamity to prove a point or to make us turn to Him. Since the flood, He said would not cause calamity on the earth. Genesis 9:15-16 Saying that God "allows" pestilence or disaster is ridiculous. Man causes most pestilence and disaster, not God. And man must deal with these misfortunes as best they can. They can get through disaster best by 1) believing in the saving grace of Jesus Christ which gives comfort, hope, love and salvation, and 2) working with each other to stop these disasters from happening in the first place.

God cannot stop this pandemic for he has given this world to man. He gives us His grace freely and with that gift, we deal with this world as best we can. Pray that those affected by this pandemic know that Jesus died for them so that they can have eternal life - not in this world, but the next.

Interesting answer, John!

You said, "Since the flood, He [God] would not cause calamity on the earth." What about Isaiah 45:7? English Standard Version
I form light and create darkness; I make well-being and create calamity; I am the LORD, who does all these things.
