✿ By "the times of the Gentiles" we mean, the administration of the Gentiles, as the rod of chastening upon Israel, to further God's purpose concerning them. It began with Israel's first oppression by the Gentiles in Egypt, and will continue with the history of Israel through this dispensation of Grace. It will end at the return of the Messiah in glory when he will deliver Israel from the Gentiles and exalt them as the head of all nations in the Millennium and forever (Lk. 21:24; Rom. 11:25; Rev. 19:11--Rev. 20:10). ✿ This dispensation of the Gentiles is mentioned only in Lk. 21:24 and referred to in Rom. 11:25 as "the fulness of the Gentiles." The term in Romans is often taken to mean that a time will come when God will no longer save Gentiles, but will give salvation only to the Jews. Such a doctrine is not once mentioned in the Bible. During the future tribulation both Jews and Gentiles can and will be saved (Acts 2:16-21 Rom. 1:16; 10:11-13 Rev. 7:9-17).

The times of the Gentiles began with the conquest of the kingdom of Judah by the Babylonians in 586 BC and represents the conquest and domination of the Holy Land by Gentile powers.This era has lasted over 2,500 years. The times of the Gentiles will end with the battle described in Rev. 19:11-21 between the armies of the beast against the kings of the east (aided by the armies of heaven), but it will be an incomplete victory because there will be no repentance by those remaining of the beast's armies and subjects (Rev 9:14-21). The battle takes place near Bozrah (Isa 34:1-8, Isa 63:1-6). It is indirectly referred to as the harvest of grain in Rev 14:15-16. The end of the times of the Gentiles is also announced by the great angel in Rev 10:6. Daniel's Great Image (Daniel 2:31-45) symbolizes the entire era. Even though Israel will not be under Gentile rule, there will be another final battle before Christ's second coming. There will be the complete victory of Israel at the battle in the valley of Jehoshaphat (Joel 3:1-17). This battle is indirectly referred to in Rev 14:18-20 as the harvest of grapes. It is Israel's final battle. After this time no military enemies will exist for Israel.

The church age, the day of grace will end when the church is taken out. First Corinthians 15:51-53 and First Thessalonians 4:13-18. During the tribulation period all Israel will be saved. 144,000 of them will be preachers to the rest of the world. Revelation 7. There will be so many gentiles saved during that time that no man can number. But most gentiles will be beheaded for their faith and because they will not take the mark of the beast. Thank God we will not be here to go through the time of Jacobs trouble. John 3:16-18. All believers are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise who is our guarantee of eternal life to all who believe on His name alone apart from works. Ephesians 1:13-14 John 1:12 and Romans 1:16. The times of the Gentiles ends at the rapture or catching up to meet the Lord in the clouds. John 3:36 Believers are not under the wrath of God to come.

“The times of the Gentiles” is this current dispensation, commonly referred to as the Church Age. It began with John the Baptist’s preaching of the gospel, ending the dispensation of “The Law and the Prophets”. Note, in Luke 16:16, that people are forced/pressed (NKJV) into it, i.e. the Age of the Gentiles. The Age of the Gentiles is biblically fulfilled after forty-two months of persecution by the Antichrist (Rev. 13:5, 7 and Rev. 11:2). This is what is referred to as “the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled” (Luke 21:24), but it really isn’t over until the Lord returns, no sooner than thirty days later for the Rapture of the Church.
