Gentiles are not of a tribe of Israel. Gentiles are anyone outside of the nation Israel. We see that the isles of the Gentiles were created from Noah's son Japheth in the book of Genesis.

Genesis 10:1-5
"Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood.
2 The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
3 And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
4 And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
5 By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations."

Abraham, the father of Israel, is a descendant of Noah's son Shem (Genesis 10:22-31, Luke 3:23-38).

Side note: Gentiles (including us today) and unbelieving Israel have been offered the free gift of salvation by God's grace through our faith in the gospel of Christ found in the apostle Paul's epistles (Romans through Philemon). Specifically, our belief in what the death of Jesus Christ on the cross, burial, and resurrection on the third day, means for us.

The gospel of Christ:
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV
"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"

When someone believes our gospel message revealed to Paul by Christ in Heaven, they have accepted Christ as their savior and are, immediately upon belief, sealed with the holy Spirit until the day of redemption (Ephesians 1:12-13).

Yes! It is that simple! Thank God for His free unmerited gift to us today!
2 Corinthians 11:13
"But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ."

Salvation is the free gift of God that we receive by faith, adding nothing of ourselves, for everyone living during the dispensation of the grace of God (Ephesians 2:8-9, Ephesians 3:2). Any book outside of Paul's epistles to us are for our learning (2 Timothy 3:16), but were not written directly to us (Matthew 10:5, Matthew 15:24).

Our instructions are to "rightly divide the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15), dividing our word of truth today from the words of truth for "times past" and "ages to come". We cannot find our gospel, the purpose of the cross, the heavenly "catching away", or any other information regarding the church the body of Christ in any book other than in Paul's epistles. This gospel was hidden by God since the world began (Acts 3:21), until revealed to Saul of Tarsus (later known as the apostle Paul).
1 Corinthians 2:7-8
"7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory."

Gentiles consist of all people who are not Jewish -- that is, who are not descended from one of the twelve sons of Jacob (whom God also named Israel (Genesis 32:22-30)) (Asher, Benjamin, Dan, Gad, Issachar, Joseph, Judah, Levi, Naphtali, Reuben, Simeon, and Zebulon), who were the progenitors of the twelve Israelite tribes.

Although Abraham's descendants through Isaac and Jacob are God's "chosen people", God (as noted by Paul in the passage cited in the question) remains the God of all of humanity.
