How is God like "a hiding place" (Psalm 32:7)

7 You are my hiding place;
    you will protect me from trouble
    and surround me with songs of deliverance.

The reference to God as a "hiding place" refers to His ability to shield or protect His followers (just as if they would be hidden or invisible) from the scope or extent of danger or calamity that was seeking to harm them (as with human enemies), or that might otherwise befall them (as with misfortune in general).
