How is God like "a hiding place" (Psalm 32:7)

7 You are my hiding place;
    you will protect me from trouble
    and surround me with songs of deliverance.

This is a question I found myself asking as well. For me, God is a hiding place from many things. He sometimes "hides" my eyes from seeing things or "hides" me from the devil's attacks and even "hides" me from things I shouldn't be a part of or let be a part of my life.

In this I feel that his "hiding place" is my refuge. I can "hide" within his word to let go of anxiety, worries, pain, grief and even to find direction when I need it. I feel that it is God's way of protecting us, wrapping his love around us, re-directing us toward his will and his plan for us. Sometimes he does this in ways we don't even know is happening or even realize, but he is still there, helping, always. For this, I am thankful.

Thank you for asking this question, it was a good meditation for me this morning and a good one to consider daily.

God's peace to you.
