Regarding hunting animals for sport..... it is written in Proverbs 12:10 "The righteousness man regardeth the life of his beast:but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

Let's be clear. The question isn't whether killing animals is wrong; the question is whether "hunting animals for sport" is okay with God. When there's a question of What does the Bible say about something, someone wants to know what God's word is on a certain matter. 'What does God think or say about X ?'
The question isn't whether killing animals to control animal population is wrong or not; that ain't what was asked! Killing animals to control their dominance is a whole different dynamic, and is not a sport. Twisting the narrative to give cover to people who hunt animals for sport is not the right thing to do. In fact, it is deceitful. If you think hunting animals for the fun of doing it is okay, JUST SAY SO! If you think it's wrong JUST SAY SO!
It isn't addressed in the scriptures. I wonder why. I'm going to guess that it wasn't something that was done.
There are a great many things that are done today that aren't even mentioned in the scriptures. I'm going to guess that the people then, who penned the scriptures, couldn't even fathom some of these cultural habits and customs. (I've seen a question on this site about what the bible says about driving over the speed limit. "Is speeding a sin?" is how it is phrased...) LOL... and someone tried to answer it with the usual "submit to governing authiritues" of Romans 13. (A response to the answer was that driving someone who's dying to the hospital, or the birth of a baby are exceptions). lol. I totally agree...
