Why are there so many books on how to pray if Jesus only gave his disciples one prayer model to pray?
There are so many books on how to pray, what to pray, when to pray. I thought was supposed to be between you and God and be a sense of humility going to the father. This becomes confusing.
Matthew 6:9 - 13
ESV - 9 Pray then like this: "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. 10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

One must notice, Jesus' model prayer starts with heaven and then earth. It's a positional approach that the Lord uses. We access heaven for His Kingdom to be established here on earth. Then the prayer goes onto His life giving word (bread) and forgiveness of sin. One must look at the start here--Heaven invading earth for the establishment of His word. His word brings about redemption and a pro-activeness against falling into sin.
