As described in Genesis 5:13-21, the ark that God directed Noah to build (not to be confused with the ark of the covenant that God directed Moses to construct in Exodus 25:10-22, which has been discussed in several recent questions on this site) was a large boat in which God intended to save Noah and his family, as well as some of each form of animal life on earth, from being destroyed by the Flood which God intended to send upon the earth as a judgment of the earth's sin (as indicated in the same passage from Genesis cited above). (Any humans who would have chosen to join Noah and his family in the ark could also have been saved, but none did.)

A sound principle of Bible study, also called "exegesis", is that "Scripture interprets Scripture". With this in mind, what does the Bible say elsewhere about Noah and the ark?

In Heb 11:7, we are told that "By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith." Peter encourages us in his second letter that "if [God] did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly... then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment". 2 Pet 2:5, 9. And Jesus Himself warns us in Luke 17:26-27 that "Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man. They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all."

Another principle of Bible study is that Scripture teaches us about who God is, and who we are in relation to Him. So what does Scripture teach us about God and ourselves through the account of Noah and the ark?

First, it shows us that man is exceedingly wicked, left to himself, and stubbornly refuses to heed godly warnings about his need to repent of sin and turn to God to be saved. It also reminds us that God is just, and does not let sin, a violation of His nature, go unpunished. But also demonstrates that God is merciful and loving, "not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance." 2 Pet 3:9. When we look back also to God's first promise related to salvation when He told the serpent/Satan, "I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel." (Gen 3:15), we also see that God will not let man's sin and His (God's) own just response to sin thwart His plans and promises, but He will always provide a way for redemption to come to His people.

Whenever we read Scripture, we must always look for God to teach us more about Himself, and how He wants us to rely on Him for "all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence."

I humbly submit for your consideration a few thoughts on the matter. There was wide spread human DNA manipulation-corruption via the forced cross breeding of "fallen angels" these angels (Bene HaElohim) refers to a direct creation of God, exclusively to angels in the Septuragint. (Job 2:1; Job 2:2)

And "the daughters of men" (benoth adam) these are the daughters of both Adam and Cain which produced a corrupted hybrid. (Genesis 6:1-2)

This new hybrid was called Nepilim "the fallen ones" another phrase "the mighty ones" (HaGibborim) translates from the Greek Septuagint as gigantes "earth-born" from the Greek gigas. (Genesis 6:4)

Translated into English as giants, some lived in the days of Moses and later scripture has even named some. (Deuteronomy 1:4; Deuteronomy 3:13; 2 Samuel 21:16; 2 Samuel 21:18-20)

Scripture is telling us that the very DNA gene pool of all flesh on earth, was corrupted by the mischief of these beings and their hybrids. Only Noah and his family's genealogy was uncorrupted thus perfect without blemish. (Genesis 6:9-12)

God's judgment reference for their transgression to these fallen angels is found in (Jude 6-7) and in (2 Peter 2:4-5) Greek tartarus "a dark abode of woe" or "a pit of darkness of the unseen world."

The Sethite view "sons of God" refers to the line of Seth and the "daughters of Adam" are thought to be those of Cain and the sin involved was a failure to maintain separation.

The problem is two fold, first in the Old Testament the phrase "sons of God" never refers to believers and the concept-idea of a separation is first mentioned or appears in (Genesis 12:1-2).

Bottom Line: DNA Manipulation - Corruption
Current bio-tech engineering enthusiasm for crossing the rubicon paths of genetics and DNA for altering and then merging some form of Artificial Intelligence in mans quest to create life on his own terms and in his own image. And not to be out done the leftists hoity-toity of pseudo science are informing the great unwashed that there are now thirty one genders.

For the cosmopolitan among us the concept that renegade angels came down to earth and cohabited with women to then produce a new hybrid offspring may appear pretty strange at first. But this very notion is found in the legends of virtually every ancient culture on earth? But really is it any harder to believe than, the creation story or the virgin birth? 

"As the days of Noah were, so shall be the coming of the Son of man be" (Matthew 24:37).

And they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. (Matthew 24:39)
