It is not often that Jesus is troubled in His spirit. With that said, why would He be so troubled here?.He knew He was going to raise Lazarus or He would not have come. I believe He was deeply moved and troubled in the spirit because of everyone's faith (lack). Didn't they know who He was/is?
As indicated at https://biblehub.com/greek/strongs_1690.htm, the Greek word used in the verse (anglicized as "embrimaomai") appears five times in the gospels (Matthew 9:30; Mark 1:43; Mark 14:5; John 11:33; and John 11:38). The three times in Matthew and Mark are translated as "sternly warned" or "scolded", so the use of the term in the verses from John would seem to indicate a state of emotional upset on Jesus' part that could have been related both to the deep mourning going on around Him, and also in reaction to the suffering and grief that mankind's fallen state of sin (caused by Satan) had made possible among humans.
