How seriously should I consider the words of a complete stranger who told me, "God told me to tell you, God has a plan."?

I know God does have a plan for all of us. I was moved that a complete stranger would walk up to me and tell me he was compelled to give me a message. He said that God told him to tell me, "God has a plan". Is this something good? I would think so, but then I start worrying that something bad is going to happen and He is trying to tell me to stop worrying!! I feel silly typing this because I SHOULD just be trusting Him no matter what. Thank you for your feedback.
