Michael:
Respectfully, you are off base when it comes to Episcopalians. While congregations are under the jurisdiction of the Diocesan Bishop the individual priest determines the focus and procedures of the individual churches. You will find liberal Episcopal churches and more conservative Episcopal churches.

As an Episcopalian, my belief is that we must all be the heart, hands and eyes of Christ as we seek to do His will here for His glory. Our church uses Matt. 25 as its mission statement, has increased its outreach budget 10% every year since we started in 1989, welcomes everyone, judges no one, and is an awesome place to worship and enjoy fellowship.

Having enjoyed many of your well considered and written answers in the past I was surprised to see such a blanket denunciation and disrespect of a denomination by you. As with all denominations (which God no doubt chuckles about anyway) each include true Christians who put their talents to use to fulfill God's mission on earth and those who do not exemplify the true characteristics of Christianity or are hypocritical. However, no one can make such blanket statements about an entire denomination! Every denomination is flawed as it is man-created but none no more or less than others.

Blessings,
Gale
