The Bible has a lot to say about the end times. Nearly every book of the Bible contains prophecy regarding the end times. Taking all of these prophecies and organizing them can be difficult. Follow...

The term "Rapture" is the most misunderstood word in regard to future prophesy. There will definitely be no disappearance event, that is wishful thinking and contradicts all the scriptures that speak of difficult times for the faithful. And not only that, but then Christ would have to return a THIRD time which is not ever mentioned in the Bible.

Christ will return once more, "The Second Coming", (which is Judgement Day), believers will be "lifted up" from the Judgement petered out on the unsaved. Believers are then with the Lord for ever in a wonderful, painless paradise.

Revelations is a symbolic book as it is written in Apocalyptic language.
Throughout it John says things like, "the candles stand for this, the stars mean, the various images represent the Church, Christ or a certain Roman leader. ALL of the numbers used are consistent with apocalyptic symbolic numeracy, so they are never meant to be taken at face value. John explains that near the close of the book.

The Bible warns us that the world will end (2 Peter 3:10-13). 10 -- "But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed. 11 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, 12 waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! 13 But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

"As with all biblical prophecy, it is not given to satisfy our curiosity about the end times, but rather to motivate us toward godly living." bible.org

We are to snatch people, as it were, out of the fire, to save them. Picture the whole world of unbelievers in a burning house. What do we do about it?

My mom wanted me to major in philosophy at a secular college, ASU, for at least 2 years before I got my desire to transfer to a Bible college, Arizona Bible College. She wanted me to study the Danish philosopher, Kierkegaard, who tells a parable of a theater where a variety show is proceeding. Each show is more fantastic than the last, and is applauded by the audience. Suddenly the manager comes forward. He apologizes for the interruption, but the theater is on fire, and he begs his patrons to leave in an orderly fashion. The audience thinks this is the most amusing turn of the evening, and cheer thunderously. The manager again implores them to leave the burning building, and he is again applauded vigorously. At last he can do no more. The fire raced through the whole building and the fun-loving audience with it.

“And so,” concluded Kierkegaard, “will our age, I sometimes think, go down in fiery destruction to the applause of a crowded house of cheering spectators.” bible.org
