I will preface this post by saying the following: With end-time prophecy, I really haven’t a clue. There are so many differing views and opinions that to grab onto any of them is a matter of much confidence bordering on arrogance. Now that’s my opinion, so take it or leave it. I do have opinions but they are only opinions. I personally don’t believe in a pre-tribulation rapture, but who knows… God has not blessed me with inspiration in regards to eschatology, so this post s nothing more than a “Hmm…that’s very interesting in regards to current events.” Upon reading Revelations 13 this morning, I focused on the following passage: 15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. 16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six (666). I took out my old Companion Bible, and was curious over what the footnotes had to say about 666. I had read it many times in the past, but read it under a new light today and was quite taken aback over what I read. The Greek for this number is: χξς΄: three letter by gematria, 600+60+6. It is the number of a name. When the name of the beast is known, it will be doubtless be recognized by both computation and gematria. The three letters SSS (=666) formed the symbol of ISIS and the secret symbol of the “Old Mysteries”. Like I said, this is only some speculation on my part, and reading this perked up my antenna in light of what’s been going on with ISIS, Iraq and Israel.
