Christian life is following and obeying the word of God. The Bible says we are born again and born of God when we repent and accept the Lord Jesus as Lord and Savior; we are a new creation. "Let us not be conformed to this world be transformed by renewing of our minds," and we must have the mind of Christ. Many scripture passages tell us how to live as a christian or how to live with Christ in our life. We must READ and OBEY the word of God. Not only our faith will increase, but we will know Him more, and also have an intimate relationship with God as our Father. He will reveal Himself to us and we will receive deeper revelation in the word of God. Being a christian is to be a follower of Christ our Lord.

The Christian life has two goals, one inward and one outward. The inward goal is to become the person that God created us to be. And who are we created to be? Just like Jesus, who said follow me, follow my example and way of life. This is what God is doing "And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit" (2 Corinthians 3:18). The second goal mirrors Jesus mission. To bring God's love and blessing to a lost, dying, and corrupt world to transform it into the place God intended at creation. The impact of Jesus three years of ministry turned the world upside down and utterly transformed human society. Many of the laws we treasure today that govern human behaviour originated from the principles of the bible that were championed by the first Christian communities. Jesus gave us the pathway to achieving these goals in the opening section of his Sermon on the Mount. In Matthew 5:3-6 Jesus gives us the attitudes of the heart that will transform us into his image. “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled". When we humble ourselves (poor in spirit) then we only do the things our Father tells us to do and we only speak the words our Father gives us to say. When we mourn (our capacity to sin and rebel) it keeps our heart soft toward God and prevents any barrier in our relationship with him. When we are meek (surrendered) to the Lordship of Jesus Christ we can be trained and equipped to accomplish the will and works of God. When we hunger to be filled (with the Holy Spirit) we will do greater works than Jesus did by the power of the Holy Spirit, just like he prophesied. In Matthew 5:7-10 Jesus gives us the thoughts, words and deeds that will deliver the blessings of God to a world desperately in need of it. "Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven". When we are merciful we are delivering God's unconditional, abundant and continuous love to everyone who needs it. Every human being deserves to experience the love of God. God has chosen the Christian church to deliver His love. When we are pure in heart, we show the whole world what genuine faith in Jesus Christ looks like. A life that is so attractive and appealing that everyone we meet will want to experience being born again. When we are peacemakers, we help everyone make peace with God through the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the power of God for salvation. We also help people make peace with each other, reconciling relationships between people, ethnic groups and countries. When we take our stand for righteousness, we fight for justice, equality, fairness, generosity, caring for the poor (homeless), the fatherless (orphans) and the aliens (immigrants), feeding the hungry, stopping human trafficking, ending preventable diseases, etc. When we do these things we are fighting against the evil forces that are seeking to destroy the world that God created and we will be persecuted for it, but take heart for Jesus has overcome the world. Jesus has given us the pathway to fulfil the Christian life that God has planned for us. The real question is, "Will we have the faith to walk this path alongside the Holy Spirit?"

A Christian's life should take after the very nature of Christ, follow the precepts of God and adhere to them. This is to say being like Christ himself. A Christian is someone who identifies himself with Christ and therefore he or she MUST portray the character traits of Christ Himself. Christianity is not a religion but it is identity with Christ, it's a way of life that immulates Christ. People will quickly point out a Christian in you when they see how you live, how you talk, how you conduct yourself and how you do things, which replicates the very nature of Christ. A Christian life should be able to convict others of sin and follow Christ others become Christians by seeing your way of life. Your life alone is preaching. A chiristian should forsake all things, believe in Christ and follow Christ's way of life by faith. When Christ takes over a Christians life it's no longer the Christian that lives but Christ. Paul says in Galatians 2: 20 I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me. That's the life of a Christian.
