I hope that what we call professionalism refers to legitimate, honest activities and jobs. I like Lena mentioning the epistle to Ephesians, it is written Ephesians 6:7-8 to work as if we were working for the Lord and in Ecclesiastes 9:10 to do everything with might.

I could not image how this applies to professionals working in abortion clinics or betting shops. I hope Christians would not choose to exercise those jobs.

I was offered a one bedroom flat by a housing association two months ago. I had to give work references from a national bar restaurant company and previous landlord.

Even though the housing association understood that my job means late night finishes every night and I do not drive, they offered a property where the public transport is scarce and during the daytime/early evening only. When I started the tenancy the flat had to be rewired because the electricity wasn't safe.

All this because they did not want to leave it empty and lose rent monies, they told me to apply for social security benefits if commuting to work was not possible!!

Now I am facing a major inconvenience to try to move back to where I lived before.

This was a total lack of professionalism because the property/tenant assessment was not carried out correctly. It was just a careless, rushed move.

It is extremely important to have professionalism, some jobs involve a lot of responsibility e.g. surgeons, nurses. A rushed, careless assessment can kill or cause permanent damage.
