Jesus utilized a treasurer- someone to handle the money for the group, in order to keep himself from accusation of mishandling money, or using it inappropriately. This is a good example for leaders and pastors of churches to follow in order to keep themselves from accusation.

Jesus was accused of many things: Blasphemy (Matthew 9:1-3, 26:65, Luke 5:21, John 10, and many others), Being Demon Possessed (Matt. 12:22-32, Luke 11:14-23), Being a Drunk and Glutton (Luke 7:34). He faced many accusations, but never was he accused of mishandling money. Why? Because he employed someone else to have charge of the money bag.

Pastors and church leaders should never handle money that comes in through the church- leaders except for those that are specifically designated as a treasurer. This, as stated above, keeps the leadership from accusations of mishandling the church's money.
