What is Heaven going to be like for married people?

My father in law was a born again Christian. His wife/my mother in law is too. He just died. Will they still be married in Heaven or will they just be friends?

There will be no need for marriage between souls in the heavenly kingdom of God. Adam was given a wife as a companion who was comparable to him in the garden in which God placed him. God said, "It’s not good that the man is alone." (Genesis 2:18). In the Kingdom of Heaven, there is no need for earthly designed "fixes" for prosperous living.

The phrase "It’s not good" is ominous. Adam was lonesome; that's what we're being told. So God "fixed" it through marriage.

Marriage is problematic; it doesn't exist in the Kingdom of Heaven. Neither does divorce.. (Here it is) Flesh and blood doesn't exist there either. Marriage is for flesh and blood humans, not for souls..

I don't know about anyone else, but for me, I'm ready for something new. I long for Heaven on earth right now; but I don't long for earth on Heaven when I get there!! I long for that which I can't even imagine. I Corinthians 2:9 tells us that we haven't seen, heard of, or even thought of the things which God has prepared for those who LOVE HIM!! (emphasis mine). It doesn't say 'for them who believe Him, or obey Him.' It's specific! 'For those who love God!'

That scripture has a verse that follows that is seldom quoted. It says, "But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God." That's verse 10. The verses that follow, in summary says, 'Man's wisdom isn't applicable for spiritual learning.' We must let the Spirit teach us spiritual things!!
