What does the bible say about trying to control others?

Not things like discipline, leadership/authority, or civil punishment, but rather trying to force others through word or action to act or think a certain way?

Jesus talked about loving others as we love ourselves. That means accepting others for who they are as we accept ourselves for who we are. Simple. So trying to control others is not a Christian act.

Accept others (especially those who are different than you) for the glory of God because Christ accepted you and all peoples for the glory of God. --Steven J. Cole

“Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God.” (Romans 15:7)
