My opinion is that a person who exhibits strong narcissistic traits is not unlike King Saul. David describes him in many of the Psalms and cries out to God to protect him and to deliver him from the wicked and deceitful schemes of his enemies. Psalm 5 is just one example. They typically target a victim and oppress that person until almost the point of breaking. Look up the Hebrew meanings of the words used for "wicked" (rā·šā‘). They are very good at masking their true self and often seem very charming. Church leaders, pastors, elders, and counselors need to be more informed and aware of these within their congregations, and they need to be equipped to help and protect their victims. Pray for our church leaders to have discernment in this area. This article is very insightful.
