How do we cope with persecution and attacks by fellow believers?

For example: a church member has done and said bad things to my family. I feel so anxious, I haven't been to church in a long time. Scripture gives encouragement for persecution by the world, but what about from our own brothers and sisters in Christ?

It's already painful when someone who is not a member of the church to do/say unjust things about you/your family. It's even more painful when a brother/sister from the church does it.

The Holy Spirit is a spirit of reconciliation. It is difficult to approach the person who hurt you, but someone has to close the gap. Speak to him, he might change his mind and ask your forgiveness.

This takes great moral courage. If you feel you don't have it yet, pray for this grace.

We are praying for you.
