I feel that we should interact with non-believers because we could influence them and maybe eventually lead them to Jesus. Is it wrong to be friends with non-believers?

In my opinion, yes, we should have non believers as friends. It's through us the gospel is spread. Yet, we do have to be cautious that we are not lead astray by our worldly friends.
Here is some scriptures I Corinthians 5:9 KJV I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: 10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world I Corinthians 5:9 AMP 9 I wrote you in my [previous] letter not to associate [closely and habitually] with unchaste (impure) people-- 10 Not [meaning of course that you must] altogether shun the immoral people of this world, or the greedy graspers and cheats and thieves or idolaters, since otherwise you would need to get out of the world and human society altogether! The above scriptures does show that we should go out into the world and have contacts with people. One thing I have noticed it is usually the new Saint who has been born again who has the chance to win their old friends. If the new believer truly follows Jesus, the unbeliever is either going to follow the example of the believer or withdraw themselves from the believer. The new believer who is yearning to learn more about Jesus Christ was seek out new friends to help establish his faith. Here is a scripture to consider while making acquaintances. II Corinthians 6;14-15 (KJV) 14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? II Corinthians 6:14-15 (AMP) 14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers [do not make mismated alliances with them or come under a different yoke with them, inconsistent with your faith]. For what partnership have right living and right standing with God with iniquity and lawlessness? Or how can light have fellowship with darkness? 15 What harmony can there be between Christ and Belial [the devil]? Or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? This scripture is often used in when considering marriage, which I believe it does, But this scripture also concerns our relationships, friends, business dealings and our everyday saintly walk. None of our dealings with our fellow believers and unbelievers should be anything that could be taken wrongfully or cause a mark on our testimony. Read the whole chapter 6. It will enlightened you more. A few more scriptures Romans 14:16 (KJV) Let not then your good be evil spoken of Romans 14:16 (AMP)Do not therefore let what seems good to you be considered an evil thing [by someone else]. [In other words, do not give occasion for others to criticize that which is justifiable for you.] I hope this has enlightened you some.
